"Dumb" switch not opening garage

#21

Thanks! Yeah, no way of knowing until I can get into the garage, and the garage isn’t attached to the house. LOL I truly love, LOVE the cold and snow, but I’m comfy and don’t feel like trekking through it! Thanks again - I’ll report back when I get this figured out.

I had the same question… something is up there…

  • Normally, contact sensors report to the hub when contact changes
  • Normally, contact sensors cannot receive commands from ST or webCoRE

As mentioned earlier, I would focus on trying to send a command to:
'the zwave signal (that) acts as a switch to tell the garage door to open or close"

So my OTHER garage door (same setup) I used the new app’s “if/then” automation, and it works. But it doesn’t work if the switch position doesn’t match the door (if I use my truck’s remote to open the garage door, I can’t use the switch to close it unless I turn “on” the switch first, which I don’t like). So SOMETHING works with it…
