Nest Thermostat State Change

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
Piston is NOT triggered when thermostat state changes.

2) What is the expected behavior?
Piston should trigger when thermostat state changes.

3) What is happening/not happening?
Nothing is happening

**4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston

5) Attach any logs (From ST IDE and by turning logging level to Full)

I feel like I am missing something small/stupid. But I can post logs if you think that they will be helpful.

Hi @HAL2000
What are the options when you add thermostat 1?
(sorry I don’t use Nest, so if you can provide a screen shot with option that would be helpful)

#3

Are you looking to see the available attributes?

FYI: The attribute changes. The change just isn’t triggering the piston.

I know it is changing because I made another piston to read it and send my the text from that attribute as a notification.

From what I have seen, most Device Handlers do not push attributes with a ‘house’ icon in front of them. (meaning they won’t work as a trigger) Although they can be queried to grab the current data.

Also, I think “operating state” might not be the same as “thermostatOperatingState”.
(you won’t find spaces in attributes with a ‘house’ icon)

#5

I selected Operating State (no house). The green screenshot shows thermostatOperatingState.

Figured it out. DH issue.

I have another issue, but I’ll get back to you once I’ve figured out what the issue is.
