Setting a variable in an expression depending on current thermostat mode?

Best of both worlds is the way to go!

I program SmartHomes for a living, and creating a “Smart” thermostat is one of the biggest requests. (auto-adjust based on outside temperature, humidity, who is home, time of day, etc)

Please accept my apologies… I cannot share my trade secrets publicly.

All of my forum posts cover basic topics, or generic pistons that can benefit everyone…
(I reserve my best custom work for my clients)

I hope you can understand…

Each to their own, we all gotta make a living somehow… nothing wrong with that…

Now to change the topic abit. As much as I want to dabble with this myself I dont really have enough time to dig through documents and threads / forums to get an idea how to go about all this, how much would some basic functionality like what you wrote about cost?

What I have now kind of works but if it could be better im all down for it, if its reasonable priced that is else I will have to fight aehile longer to get it stable eniugh to leave it as is as I dont need that much fine tuning really.
Dont really mind manual input from time to time as long as I can ditch the IR remote haha
