I am not able to get the text message to come across

#183

A couple of months back, SmartThings (in their infinite wisdom) blocked SMS messages to all countries except for the US. (plus, US residents have a strict daily limit on SMS messages)

Also, if you are in the US, the first SMS after that change requires you to respond to that text, to allow all other SMS messages to come thru. (the response was “YES” to allow)

Here is mine. TWC weather is pulling the wrong expiration time. Should be 9:00 PM, but the effective time is correct. Any ideas?

Thanks for your contribution, @piersm2
(I will update the Wiki on my next day off)

Here are the times I see in your post:

pic

It looks like this prediction came in on the 27th. At that time, the estimated time for your “Winter Weather Advisory” was 6AM thru 3PM on the 28th.

I expect the next message you receive will have a new expiration time.

#186

Here is a screenshot of the smartapp code that I was able to get on a test build. I was trying to come up with a smartapp to notify me of severe weather.

#187

Also, when I just pull $twcweather, this is what I get. Only the alerts table.

I can pull forecast and conditions though by using $twcweather.forecast and $twcweather.conditions

#188

I just put the full texts in the log field and I can get this to run currently in IDE

… and now the million dollar question…

Can you use webCoRE to return the data as seen in your last post?

#190

I’m debugging all steps to see if I can get there

#191

from what I can tell, we need to use the detailKey as a reference into the alertDetail table

#192

Got a few, finally got a chance to post something

Sorry it took so long to update this time. The holidays can get a bit crazy over here…

All 7 of the latest posts have been added to the Wiki now.

New Additions (and contributors):

On two of them, I was only able to add partial information:

… and one of them, I believe was already listed:

  • Winter Weather Advisory was already on the Wiki (@piersm2)

Thanks again for everyone’s ongoing contributions!!

@WCmore Just noticed this one in my logs, it doesn’t appear like it already exists but it also doesn’t appear to have all the info due to logs shortening it.
