2nd IF not running - Echo Speaks

#1

Folks,

I’m trying to create a simple piston that makes my Echo speak when the doorbell (Ring) is pushed and then only if I answer it speaks again.

The first IF works - when the doorbell is rung, my Echo devices speak. The 2nd will not run.

I’m a complete novice at Piston design - though I am trying to learn.

I’ve considered the first IF running and then firing another piston with the 2nd IF - but I don’t know how to limit the 2nd Piston from running every time the door is opened and closed.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,

Rich

I have never been impressed with the condition “Followed By”…

Here is how I program webCoRE to send a voice alert, and then based on my actions, it may send a second alert shortly afterwards. (using only a single trigger)

I was just thinking this would be a perfect use for your piston.

I can’t even imagine how it works when the same binary device attribute is in both triggers. When I tried it yesterday the ‘then’ always seemed to run regardless, which seems the opposite of the OP’s problem. If ‘followed by’ didn’t exist in webCoRE, I wouldn’t be clamouring for it to be added.
