A way to turn off my computer screen off

#1

I have a ‘Goodnight’ routine that shuts off lights and locks doors.
Is there a way to send a command to a PC to turn off the monitor?
I guess I could get a outlet switch for the monitor but I do not want to hard shutdown my expensive monitor every night.

Or instead of ST/CoRE turning the monitor off. Can a PC read a routine and run a macro on the PC itself?

How about EventGhost? Not sure how involved it is though.

On my mac, I just now setup control via bluetooth. It took a few minutes to connect, and with no additional setup, the Harmony app can turn the screen on and off pretty easily. I haven’t looked into it but it looks like a bunch of commands can be preset as well, so voice assistant is a real possibility. Of course, I have a harmony hub. I actually think a good smart outlet will not reduce. computer life by much if any measurable amount. Your concern is valid though, but I think the smooth start is mostly in the power supply these days.
