Alternatives for Android based presence

#1

Presence for us used to be rock solid, but with Android 7 updates as well as new hub firmwares, it’s taken a hit as of late and caused multiple issues with routines and SHM.

Ergo, this topic.

Now, my wife and I have allocated IPs on the subnet our phones connect to. Can webcore periodically ping those IPs and use them as presence sensors that way?

Going through unanswered posts. Have you had a chance to check out this thread?

The android beta is currently in progress. If you would like to join it (if not already) then send @ady624 a PM with the following format.

Platform: Android
Email: google play store email

And read up on the thread before doing so. There are some beta issues to be concerned about.

I have been using this solution for a while now. Tasker with Sharptools. There is a lot of typing and lots of room for error when setting up, but it works 98% of the time.

I now have both this and the webCoRE Presence Alpha on my phone.
