Arlo Pro 2 integration with Smartthings and Sharptools

#1

Hi all, I am posting the same question I’ve just posted to smarthings community: is there any documentation on Arlo Pro integration with smarththings and sharptools integration. I am trying to initiate video/clip recording using tasker and sharptool but can’t make it work. I can use smartthings app and smart home monitor to trigger video recording by the motion of another motion sensor but the delay is unacceptable? There are a couple of methods available like capture, startStream, stopStream but I haven’t managed to initiate video/clip recording on my Arlo Pro 2 camera. Thank you. Zoran

Honestly I have ST and Arlo integrated (for the motion sensors in the cameras) but I gave up getting ST to start recording… I simply created an Arlo Mode to record directly - still with the ST integration, but all the motion/capture decisions are purely Arlo based

The delay was too much for me as well. Arlo handles all the video capturing with my custom modes. I still have the SM integration and Arlo motion sensors will trigger my flood lights outside and blink my fireplace light when motion is sensed at my front door and my driveway.

Edit:
You can look into stringify and ifttt, I have a flow that when I say “ok Google did you hear that” all my cameras record for 300 seconds and all my outside lights come for 10 minutes.

Out of a brilliant Netgear engineering I have to use Arlo Q plus camera to trigger the Arlo Pro 2 camera to start recording. Isn’t that awesome? The first one can detect motion through the glass but the second one can’t and has to be plugged into an electric outlet in order to have zones working. From the time Arlo Q detects the motion until Arlo Pro starts recording the event is gone. I am able to use tasker and sharptools to turn on/off both cameras. And that’s pretty quick. I thought if I figured out how to start recording on Arlo Pro using sharptools methods I would beat the delay.
