Change Heatit Thermostat configuration

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I would like to change the settings of the Heatit Z-TRM Thermostats from a piston. Are there any way of doing so?

#2

Yes, if your thermostat is a recognized device within webcore. Which hub are you using?

#3

I use the Smartthings Hub V3. All the Thermostats are there, but I do not quite find the commands to do so:

There is a command called “device Configure”, but I cannot see how to actually change parameters there:

#4

First, I would not make any long-term plans for webcore with ST. The webcore app is set to be retired with groovy in the near future. Maybe I am not sure what you are asking. In your post, I see several options below “Configure” to change attributes of your thermostat.

#5

Thanks, I am aware of the Webcore and Groovy plans. The parameters below the configure are standard commands, I was more interested in changing the detailed sattings (like floor sensor offset).

#6

WebCoRE can only offer you the commands that are available in the SmartThings device integration. Generally that means the commands defined by the capabilities the device supports, though legacy device handlers also allowed custom commands.

If the device integration doesn’t expose a command to do it then webCoRE can’t help you.

#7

Hi, understand. But all these settings are available through the ST app.

#8

Yes, the Settings (which tend to be called Preferences outside of the client apps) represent the configuration of the device or its integration and SmartThings does not yet expose them outside of its client apps.

Clearly access is possible as the client apps are just internet clients, but it just isn’t documented, and even if it were it is too late for webCoRE.
