Comcast sucks again - Speed test

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I am one of those that have Comcast as my internet provider and at times it is great and others it sucks till I have to reboot my router. I know this is a long shot but is there anyway to run a speed test pull the data and reboot the router if the speeds drop. Worse case I could find something that prints to a test file and pull that data…possibly.

2) What is the expected behavior?

This could certainly be possible, just depends on what hardware you’re using and your skillset.
I know how I’d do it, but I also have a linux home server to use as well as a router running DD-WRT.

If you’re running python on *nix/windows/mac, there’s a python script you can use to pull the data from the command line:
