Cool, thanks. Let me know how it goes. I’m planning on doing something similar in my bathroom eventually, but I don’t have smart switches there yet. I also considered adding other features like comparing the humidity with other sensors in the house.

For local variables, absolutely YES…

The answer is much more complex if you ever try using globals though…
