Fibaro Single Switch 2 - if no power, turn OFF in Smartthings

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I have a Fibaro Single Switch 2, which by system design intentionally has power cut to it, several times through out the day, but what happens is that it still shows as ON in Smartthings, as it wasn’t properly turned off from Smartthings.

2) What is the expected behaviour?
Webcore to be able to check the power status of the Fibaro and if no power detected \ not contactable, then turn it OFF in Smartthings.

3) What is happening/not happening?
It stays ON, but needs to automatically turn OFF if no power.

Many Thanks.

Are you not able to give the Fibaro independent always on power? You’ll find it’s better that way. Taking a device on and off your Z-Wave mesh is a recipe for a headache.

unfortunately no, a little background into why I am trying to achieve this, if I give it direct power, then it I am unable to use the control panel thermostat to control the power to the underfloor heating:

I am trying to make my UK electric underfloor heating Smart, so I bought a Fibaro Single Switch 2. I already have an original wall thermostat control panel and I connected the Fibaro to this panel, i.e. placing it in between the panel and the electric heating matt, using the neutral and live wires leaving the panel.

Now that seemed to do the job, i.e. I can leave the heating turned on permanently from the panel 24/7 and Fibaro will turn the heating matt on and off, but I then realised that when the panel thermostat temp reaches lets say 24 degrees, it turns off, and that means no power going to Fibaro, so even though the heating, heating matt and Fibaro is off, the Fibaro shows as still on in Smartthings \ Actiontiles (as it wasn’t properly powered off). If I tap the icon again, Fibaro show as off, but this is not ideal!

I am not that clued on about how to do advanced wiring with the Fibaro, so not sure if it can have a separate live wire going to it. :frowning:

The Fibaro needs always on power. How about if the Live from the control panel went to S1, and acted like a switch?

That wouldn’t work, as I would not be able to control the panel…Any how, I got home and ripped out the panel, so problem solved

but thanks for your help.
