I spent three hours trying to create 1st piston...stumped

1) Give a description of the problem
webCoRE says my piston won’t operation…I’m new to webCoRE, have no programming knowledge, and i’m struggling to create a simple piston. If somebody could please steer me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

2) What is the expected behavior?
I want the holiday lights to turn on 20 minutes before sunset, and off at midnight

3) What is happening/not happening?
When i save the piston i get this response:
“This piston does not subscribe to any events. Unless executed by other means, it will never run on its own.”

4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston

5) Attach any logs
No logs, i can’t figure out how to get my first piston going.

Instead of using $time from the Variable option, try using Virtual device where Time will be an available option, then you can set your desired time of day with offset available below it.

You had the correct idea, the only thing that messed up your piston is you inadvertently subscribed to the wrong trigger. Speaking of trigger, check out the link below for a good read on triggers and conditions.
