Installation Fail - Webcore Not Appearing in Smartthings App

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
First, I followed instruction from the webcore wiki. I had a Samsung account,

  1. I integrated it with my github account,
  2. clicked on “My SmartApps”,
  3. clicked on Settings
  4. Added the Webcore Repository
  5. Updated from Repo
  6. Selected the Webcore first, publish, then Execute Update
  7. Then went back and selected Webcore Storage, Piston, and Dashboard. Selected Publish, the Execute Update.
  8. I next went in an enabled OAuth on the Webcore Repository. The dashboard updates ad shows OAuth is True.
  9. The directions don’t mention enabling OAuth in the other repositories

Then I try to find the Webcore in my SmartThings App. It talks about a Marketplace, which I can’t find. I mentions going into SmartApps and finding MyApps. Nothing.

2) What is the expected behaviour?

3) What is happening/not happening?

4) Post a Green Snapshot of the pistonimage
(UPLOAD YOUR IMAGE HERE)

5) Attach logs after turning logging level to Full
(PASTE YOUR LOGS HERE THEN HIGHLIGHT ALL OF THE LOGS AND CLICK ON THE </> ICON TO FORMAT THEM CORRECTLY)

the instructions were written for the SmartThings Classic app which is where you will easily find the Marketplace. While you can do everything in the new ST app, most find it more difficult.

my suggestion… install the ST classic app, choose New to SmartThings when logging in and use your samsung account to login. finish the webcore install there.

So, you are saying Webcore does not work with the current Smartthigngs app? Has the project been abandoned?

Thanks,
Mike

no, not what I was saying. stating the instructions were written for the classic app and probably easier for most to install there. It does work with the new app but the interface is a little clunky from missing done buttons and instead you are confronted with exits and discard of data buttons but it does save your settings.

for your sanity, probably best to use it from the classic to initially set up and add devices. after that, use the dashboard.
