Light flahses 100% then 20%

This piston is supposed to turn the bathroom light on (with motion) between sunset/rise to 100% unless its during sleeping hours then is suppose to go to 20%. The idea being if it’s 7pm and you walk in the bathroom the lights go to 100%… you get up at 1am the lights go to 20% and your not blinded. The first part works fine. However this is what happens during sleeping hours;

Sometimes it acts like its supposed to. IKR?? Sometimes you walk in the light comes on at 100% then instantly moves to 20%. Almost like a flash This will wake you up! It then stays at 20% until one of 3

  1. you walk out of the room and hit the light it turns off as expected
  2. you walk out of the room and 5mins later WC turns it off as expected
  3. you’re still in there next time it detects motion and the lights goes to 100%

Now at this point if it detects motion again while the light is still 20%… it goes to 100% and stays.

What am I doing wrong?

Try deleting the Turn On line. Set Level will automatically turn your light on to the level you’re setting. Turn on just goes to the last setting of the dimmer.

To expand on @michicago’s answer. When your lights are off they still hold their last level value. Make the changes and you should be good.

And if for some reason it doesn’t, set the level before you turn on.
