Lights not coming on when door sensor opens

1) Give a description of the problem
When I arrive home, after sunset and my back door (sensor) opens, I want lights to come on, it is not happening

2) What is the expected behavior?
Turn on lights when my back door sensor opens

3) What is happening/not happening?
Nothing was happening, so I switched from my ‘back door sensor’ to my garage opening. using the Garage, it works as designed but I would like to use my back door sensor, not the garage (if possible)

**4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston!

The way you have it written, both Contact Sensor 1 and Contact Sensor 8 both have to either change or be open at the same time for the lights to come on. Try removing one of the contact sensors.

Sorry, i sent the wrong screenshot. I did only have once sensor when it didn’t work.

Can you post the correct screenshot please. I do see the contact sensor 6 should not be using $status but instead using contact. But seeing the wrong screenshot as you said, I don’t know how to respond. Also curious about the first contact sensor which is using door. What type of sensor is that?

That was it! When I switched from $status to contact, all is right.

Thank you, still new, this is only my 3rd piston.
