Well said…
My wife wanted lights to be completely off after a movie night so we can directly go to the bed.
I programmed accordingly.
Two days later she said “Why this room is so dark, I need some lights.”
I programmed accordingly.
Two days later she wanted lights to be completely off after a movie night.
And she doesn’t like dimmed lights.
LOL
Maintain a dim setting between certain hours
Oh the joys of programming! LOL
I don’t know if this will help, but I usually hard code things that are consistent, and tend to use other methods for my spontaneous events. (Push button / Voice Control / Tasker / etc)
All of these will still trigger & execute code in webCoRE, I just use slightly different syntax when programming.
Exactly correct. I’ll program my home to tell me when the bathtub is full, because not knowing can have adverse consequence. But I will not program the time/color/intensity of the lights in my home, and I will not have tv or music play automatically…
I’m re-doing my kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Of course they will have smart lighting, likely Hue strips etc. I will probably program one thing as far as lighting - if the hallway motion sensor activates from 11pm to 5am, it’s almost entirely likely that someone is heading to the kitchen or bathroom. So a smart light in each room will be configured to go on very low intensity, for perhaps five minutes. Because although I see very well in the dark, the other folks in the house do not.
I must admit, it’s very smart:))) I am still insisting on trying to create the illusion of my house is KITT (Knight Rider reference:)))))))
I am curious about the Bathtub though. Are you going to use a wet sensor?
If yes, how are you dealing with splater activating it?
I programmed it about a year ago. Using the Everspring sensor… and so far, splatter has not been an issue. The sensor has to see conductivity between its prongs via water in order to trigger, and an occasional splash seems to not do that. Not had a false trigger since I set it up.
The best part is that now the announcements come via Echo Speaks into every room. So unless you’re outside (and that also has a remedy on an as-needed basis; I don’t need my neighbors getting all my announcements lol), you can’t help but get the message that it’s time to turn off the spigot in the tub.
