Motion Controlled Lights Will Not Turn Off After 3 Minutes

#21

I must say, though: I have 8 of these and have learned to love them. The batteries (4 AA) have lasted over 2 and a half years in all of them.

I have a dumb question, out of curiosity… What if:

1:00:00 = Walk by sensor = Active sent to hub
1:00:05 = Inactive sent to hub

Then lots of movement until 1:04:30
Then an empty room for a minute…
Then lots more movement

What happens at 1:05, IF there is no movement at that exact moment?
Will the sensor remain inactive for at least 9.9 minutes?

#23

If there is no movement at that time, then yes. Thats why I chose 10 minutes for my pistons.

#24

Wow… yes… Smooth workaround for a wonky system…

Bravo!

#25

Wait… I misread that… at 1:05, the reset will happen, and any movement after that starts the process again.

Ahh ok, that’s not quite so bad… It will at least greet you when you return to the room at 1:05:30…

Edit:

It sounds like the only “hibernation” is from 5-300 seconds after it first sees you…
All the rest of the time it is “live” and ready to “see” you.

Thanks for taking the time to let me ramble a bit…
(I always like to learn something new, even though next year’s model may be very different, LOL)
