Need help changing devices

#1

So, I’ve had to replace some old devices with new ones. But I can’t remove the old ones until I remove them from my WebCore pistons.

But I can’t figure out how to determine what devices webcore gets access to. I didn’t see anything obvious in the ST App. I assume there is some way to specify the devices available to WebCore from the website??

Go into the ST phone app (classic), under Automation, select your webcore instance, under settings, Available devices, Available devices, you should be able to find the list of devices that are exposed to that webcore instance. You can edit them from there.

So, I did. It showed by “actuators” (that had devices I was keeping), and nothing listed under sensors. Those were the two categories I saw. The devices I wanted to remove weren’t listed in either of those two categories.

#4

if it helps the devices I am wanting to remove are thermostats.would those be burried in the avail devices pages somewhere?

#5

Scroll down to the bottom. You should see 3 Capability groups. Look in those.

#6

Another option would be to log into the ST IDE, under My Devices, you can edit/delete devices from there.

#7

Yea, I went through all 3 of those and they weren’t listed there either.

https://account.smartthings.com/

#9

Oh yea, that’s a good idea. So, I go to my device, it shows the apps, and I can click on the app there. At the bottom is a remove button, not clear if that removes the device from the app? Or remove the app??

If you see something like this…

Just click the red Delete button to delete that device.

Just be aware that this will delete the device from SmartThings. In order to use that device within ST/webcore again, you will have to go back into ST and add the device all over again.
