New presence settings

#1

I have set up locations in the webcore settings. How do I reference them now with a presence sensor

For example. I have work and home Setup. I can I trigger events based on the location that I am at? I’m using my iPhone as a presence sensor with smartthings, not Life360

It’s still in beta and require the WebCoRE app.

Have a look at that thread : https://community.webcore.co/t/webcore-mobile-app-ios/273/258

I used the Echosistant virtual presence sensor for my work location. This virtual sensor allow me to programmatically trigger presences status. I use the piston below to have WebCoRE’s presence sensor trigger the other virtual sensor based on current location of “work”.

you won’t need virtual presence sensors anymore… @ady624 has done an amazing job with his WebCore Presence Sensor setup… you can have upto 10 locations that are monitored by your phones location using the WebCore App, It is still currently in BETA as @Kebel871 mentioned but at some point it will be let loose on the general public and they will all wonder how they ever got by without it… :+1::sunglasses:

#5

don’t update to ios11 then, it seems to break the presence sensing for most people unless they have the smartthings app open!

#6

Well crap. Too late for tgat info already there.

#7

Don’t worrry too much. @ady624 is working on a fix and he’s making fast progress.

#8

And in the meantime, us Android users…:frowning:

#9

… should buy a real phone /thread

Lol

No for real I prefer open platforms… If only Droids were less buggy/prone to battery drain etc.

#10

I don’t have access to that link?

#11

Lol. Ya then they would be iphones

#12

Your trust level got locked out. I unlocked it so you should be good now

#13

I agree. But years ago I went with Android. So ingrained now it would be a hard task to switch. Especially at my age. Learning new things is a lot harder the older you get…LOL. And even harder for my wife.

But it’s always fun to poke fun at each type of device.

Is it possible to get access to the Beta forum? Just installed and have everything up and running, including integration with my ADT alarm system using an AD2PI device. Would love to test out new things while I am still in a testing phase since nothing is mission critical yet. And presence sensing is number one for the automations I am using. I currently have it set up with multiple virtual presence sensors being controlled using Automate and SharpTools on our android phones.

#15

Click around, read some posts. Give some replies. It unlocks pretty quickly

#16

Hope so. Presence in iOS11 suxx… Installed webCoRE Presence Sensor yesterday, but need some instructions/help.

#17

can you unlock mine as well? thanks.

#18

You are not locked out

#19

In order to get into the beta forum category you have to be Trust Level 2. The system will automatically promote you when you reach certain criteria.

One is having been a user for at least 15 days, and another is you have to have people who have liked multiple of your posts. Those are 2 of 10 things it looks for to see if you meet. Point is you have to be active and interactive. It’s not hard to get, just visit, participate, and it’ll auto award relatively quickly.

@c1arkbar for some reason I can’t see this topic, while I am in the beta
