Piston editor finds no devices

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I’ve given webcore access to every single item in the device list (WebCoRE|Settings|AvailDevicesx2|SelectDevByType)

But when I start the simplest piston, choose an action, the only device available is “Location.” None of my webcore-recognized devices appear.

2) What is the expected behavior?
There should be a list of available devices

3) What is happening/not happening?
There are no devices, only “Location”.

It was true with the previous version of webCoRE and it persists since I updated today to v 0.3 something.

You may have tried this already, but if you add new devices whilst editing a piston, they wont show to the piston until you save the piston and then go back in.

#3

In the ST app, in Automation: SmartApps, is there only one instance of WebCORE?

#4

This may be obvious, but have you gone into the SmartApp on your phone and permitted your devices in WebCore App?

You need to configure the WebCore smartapp to be able to see your devices before they will show up in WC

#5

Maybe you didn’t read the OP lol

#6

True… havent had my coffee yet … just a bit of cabin fever and lack of caffeine after the crazy weather up here in North East PA … the roads are clear and now I can get to the store to buy more COFFEE :coffee:

#7

I seem to gone backwards. Logging out and restarting everything now I"ve lost the “location” virtual device.

#8

That is highly unlikely… can you post some screenshots of what pages you are looking at.

#9

OK Location has reappeared. But still no devices…

#10

When you click on that pull-down menu, no devices show up?

And yes, I read the OP, I am just checking to make sure he is clicking on that pull-down menu

#12

Right… “Location” is the only thing on that list.

#13

You haven’t answered this question yet

#14

Can you see the devices when building a condition? Is it just for the actions you are having trouble with?

And please can we see a screenshot of the ‘add a new action’ device list, expanded.

#15

Yes, only one instance of webcore in Automation: SMartApps.

I have two ST locations but I’ve kept them totally separate with their own devices and ST logins. The only thing they know in common is my Github account.

#16

Yes I can see the devices when building a condition.

“Add a Condition”:

List of devices popup:

“Add a new action”

(Nothing pops up if i press “location.”)

#18

Please upload your images directly to the forum, not Imgur (I fixed that for you).

Gives constancy as images are then saved locally and not reliant on external servers (Imgur links may break one day).

So, your problem isn’t that the devices aren’t connected to webCoRE properly… it’s that clicking the blue location bar doesn’t display the dropdown / selection list like it should.

This is what should happen on mobile:

#19

I wonder if it’s related to the sensitivity of your smashed screen… can you try tapping other parts of the blue bar, from left to right.

#20

I’ll try that when I have time but the screen works for everything else and it doesn’t matter if

WHOA I just tried it (portrait/landscape no diff) but in the pause waiting for screen to rotate, a DEVICE LIST pops up!

Now I can select a device!

If there’s another problem I’ll know who to blame and I’ll come hunting you down.

Thanks, really.

#21

It’s intermittent. I don’t have time to work with it now but the dev list is very very slow to appear. More later.

#22

Can you confirm what mobile device and what browser you are using.
