Piston ignores location mode occasionally

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I have a piston that turns in lights when motion is detected. It’s supposed to turn on one particular light when the location mode is “asleep” and different lights when the mode is “home”. The idea is to have a red nightlight come on at night but the white ceiling lights come on at other times. The location mode and light colour settings are handled by my “bedtime” and “good morning” pistons which are triggered by routines.

Occasionally, seemingly at random, the white ceiling lights come on when there is motion and the mode is still “asleep”. I can’t figure out why and can only assume that the mode is not detected in some way.

2) What is the expected behavior?
A lamp comes on when motion and mode is asleep, different lamps come on when motion and mode is home.

3) What is happening/not happening?
It works most of the time but sometimes the lights for home mode come on when the location is in asleep mode.

4) Post a Green Snapshot of the pistonimage

5) Attach any logs (From ST IDE and by turning logging level to Full)
Sorry no logs as I never know when it’s going to happen.

This may be related to this:

Mainly affecting people in the UK (including me!) with lights coming on randomly when motion is detected. I have set up a new piston to turn lights off everty 30 seconds if I am in Away or Night mode so they don’t stay on.

Affects both SmartThings and WebCore pistons too.

Ah thanks for that. I bet that’s exactly what it is. I’ve emailed ST support to add my voice to the throng. It’s worrying that they don’t seem to know what the problem is though.

I’ve experienced similar issues lately, hopefully it will get resolved soon
