Power Outage and lights

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I’m having some power outages in the last few days. When the power came back on, all the connected lights (Philips Hue, Gledopto Led Strip and GU10) came on. I understand why, as they basically operate like normal bulbs when you operate it, and this probably looked like a switch off / switch on to the lights.
The hub and router, stay off too during this shorter power outages.
Has anyone done anything to keep the lights off, or switch them off, after power is restored? It will be disturbing to the household if a power outage happens during the night.

2) What is the expected behaviour?
Is it possible to create an automation rule based on power outage?
I want the light stays off

3) What is happening/not happening?
The connected lights are caming back on

**4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston![image|45x37]

5) Attach logs after turning logging level to Full

If you are using the Philips hue bridge for the hue lights, you can set the power-on behavior through settings in the hue app. Go to settings > power-on behavior > power loss recovery.

You may want to consider purchasing a backup UPS for the router/hub.

I believe there use to be an custom app in ST that managed some devices after a power loss. You may want to do a search on the ST forum for it.

I agree. I do it that way.

Otherwise you can’t really tell when your internet and hubs will be back online.
Also search for CANARY in this forum.

Thank you very much for your help, I really need to buy a UPS for the philips hub and smartthings.
I found this function in Hue’s app, but unfortunately it doesn’t work with gledopto lamps, here is a the screen.

I modified the Piston, I don’t know if it will run.

Sorry, I should have been clearer with my post. The power-on behavior only works with 2nd or 3rd generation hue lights on the hue bridge. It does not work with other brands of lights on the hue bridge.

I bought the UPS, but I really need your help. The piston I made is not working, I need some solution. Every day I am having power outages, I think they are doing some maintenance on the power grid.

have you checked the CANARY solution?

Yes I checked, but unfortunately I don’t have any extra smart bulbs to use as a reference. What I wanted was for the webcore to check the status of the lamp, when it goes offline and then come back online, if it comes back on then turn it off. It doesn’t seem like a difficult thing to do. I bought the UPS and my smartthings and my internet modem are now powered even with the power outage. My building has a full generator, so the power outages last an average of 2 minutes before the generator enters

I’m not sure if you can do that???
But what you can do is, set one of the lamps (with your pistons) to level %99. Every time it turns on, make sure it stays at 99.
After the power outage it will go up to %100 by default.

your piston can be something like this,

IF light bulb A level changes to 100 (that means lights were off and now power is back)
then
   Do this do that
