Problem with this piston

Ok so this is a test piston.

As you can see it says that if the house mode is away and between those time, to heat the thermostat to 15.

That works well.

My problem is this. Let say I’m at work and I think that 15 is too low. If I go modify the piston to exemple 17 it won’t work unless I change the location to night or home and then back to away.

Anyway to fix this?

after you change it to 17, click on the Test button.

No, it will run the piston if the conditions of the piston are true

why modify the piston? why not simply adjust the temp you want it to be on thermostat through ST?

I could, it’s just laziness, because if i modifiy the piston for the temperature, and then the ST then it’s 2 job, but it’s fine, was just wondering if there was another way

Well i could do just something like Every minute, do this!

My real goal is to prevent people from playing with the thermostat.

Next question, is there a way to get the Outdoor temperature, without having a outdoor dectector?

Since i’m in cAnada something to poll Weather Network or w/e?

Because i want to create something like

If Location mode is away AND outdoor temperature is between -1 and -25 Celsieus
Then with Beadroom Thermostat, heat to 20 degrees

For outdoor temp install this:


in the ST IDE you’ll get lot more then Temperature :slight_smile:
