Second webcore instance presence

#1

I created a second web core instance so that I could set up 10 more places for my webCoRE presence sensor. ( my first instance already has 10. I wanted to create more locations. )

Will my webCoRE present sensor recognize these 10 new locations that are in the second instance? How can I go about doing this. If it’s even possible. Thanks.

You can only connect the presence app to a single webCoRE instance and 10 locations.

Other webCoRE instances can still use the data from the simulated Presence device car in your things list… but you can’t add more locations.

I’m sorry can you rephrase that? not sure what you are saying there…thanks

You can only have one presence app per phone.

You can only have 10 locations in a presence app.

Additional webcore instances do not give you more locations.

Look at this please bi think it can be done. It works for me?

webCoRE Presence with multiple instances
#6

The problem here is with Apple… an iOS app can only ‘subscribe’ to 10 locations.

You might be able to setup two Presence devices using two instances of webCoRE and setup 20 locations. But the iOS app will only report on 10 locations.

I’m not sure if it works with the last 10 defined, first 10 or random… but the hard limit is with Apple.

This was discussed between @ady624 and the minions pre-release, and is the reason the 10 location limit was applied.

It was limited on Android just for consistency.

Ok, now I am confused. With Life360 premium plan you can “set up as many as you want”

How are they getting around apples limits?

Thanks for the detailed answer. The problem is my wife goes to 15 different liquor stores. I guess I have to narrow it down to the top 10!!:upside_down_face::rofl:

#9

I have no idea… but my guess is that you can have an iOS app push 10 locations, but also report any location every 5 minutes or (I think) 400m distance travelled.

That makes sense. Stupid :apple:
