I just wanted to know how the pistons send an SMS message? Is it through a US service? Just wondering because I live in Canada and if it is going through a US service, then I will be charged for every SMS message that I receive.

the SMS service is provided by ST. its the same as sending SMS from the ST app. ST should be using a local service provider. may be send a SMS from ST to yourself and check the sender?

you could try it out from ST there is a notify me when ST app that lets you do that. there are other options as well.

In the Notify Me app, it actually says that if you are outside the US to enter the country code. So I guess the texts are coming from a US service.
