Simple Timer for a outlet

#1

I am trying to create a piston that turns on an out let once every hour for ten minutes then shuts off. It is for a Septic Aerator. I can get it to turn on but it won’t shut off after ten minutes. What have I done wrong?

Thanks,

Looks pretty straightforward, any errors? or logs?

#3

I believe, once your timer trigger is no longer active, your “WAIT 10 minutes” cancels and piston stops.

please try NEVER CANCEL TASK in WITH (line 19)

opss @eibyer is here…
you have the mic.:)))))

#5

lol, no, more eyes the better

#6

I don’t get errors but line 23 and also 24 flash a ! and ? alternating ever second, the picture has the ? shown.

I will see if I can figure out the never cancel task suggestion.

Thank you

When you edit, click on WITH line 19
A window opens up. You will see a little wheel icon.
Click on it.
Find TASK CANCELLATION POLICY
scroll
Choose NEVER CANCEL TASK
Save
You will see letter N with a circle around right by the WITH

Thank you I got the N to show up but I don’t have the little clock icon nor the open circle on the turn off line. It still has a ! then a ? flashing… Thank you so much for helping with this.

#10

This might be a stupid question LOL but is the piston working?
Change timer to 1 or 5 minutes to test it.

#11

not stupid considering the code writer… no the timer is running but nothing changes I think the !, ? issue might be my problem.

#12

when I did my wait command I used “Value” under the duration option.

#13

lets get rid off that (only while) part
and just enter 3 or 4 minutes just for testing.
see what happens.

if this does not work I have one more test in my mind.

#14

I got rid of that and changed the time to 20 sec and the wait to 3 sec and it seems to be cycling. I put the total time to 30 minutes and the wait to 5 minutes to see what happens now.

#15

ok great…
Let me know. I am around.

#16

thanks for your time!

#17

It is now working fine, changed the times to 60 and 10 no issues. Again Thanks!

You are so welcome.
I am glad it worked…
