Smart wall switch with buttons for ST dimming?

#1

I all,

I’m looking for a smart wall switch that has buttons for dimming, but I want dimming to be virtual (using ST as controller) and not physical.

I need this cause I need to use smart bulbs + the smart switch. I really need best of both world, aka usability of old school plus flexibility of smart things.

Do you guys know any product that would do just that?

I think this might just be a wiring decision, no load on the dimmer with the lighting circuit wired always on. I wouldn’t want that wiring in my house but if you have to use smart bulbs…

I’d rather not resort to that wiring either… and I think it’s against the code here.

I’m reading on wink relay, it might do just what I need I think.

Go get in Osram button. It is a two button with press and hold capabilities. It covers an existing switch, sensually originally intended to control smart lightbulbs and keep the circuit hot.

Configure buttons:
1 Press: on
1 hold: increase brightness by XX%
2 Press: off
2 hold: decrease brightness by XX%

I have a few of these in my house doing exactly this.

Thanks. Just to make sure, are you referring to this product?

That would work too, but now that wasn’t what I was Referring to. You could actually use any two button or more controller to do this, as long as each button had press and hold features. Or if they were press only at least four buttons. But the one that I specifically was referring to all link below. The reason I referred to this one is because it has a bracket to screw on over A light switch, looks a little different, but for practical purposes, you can have it function via webCoRE as a dimmer

SYLVANIA Smart+ Dimming Switch

That looks like a decent way to avoid touching any wiring, especially if it’s a single-switch circuit.
