SONOS playing music with a piston

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
Sonos problem

2) What is the expected behavior?
Automated sonos playing music. Spotify, radio etc anything.
I tried URL URI but no luck.

3) What is happening/not happening?
I can play mp3s that are hosted on my website but no luck with playlists coming from other sources.

I saw some posts with no solution but dated early 2017 I was hoping lately something changed.
Can anyone play music through sonos (with a piston ofcourse)

Thank you everyone.
Ike

Here is what I use for my early morning wakeup workout routine:

Dimmer 11 is my Workout virtual switch
Dimmer 1 is my light next to the bed
Switch 9 is my autostarter for the car
Music Player 2 is my Sonos in the bedroom
Currentweather variable determines current temp and decision on if to start car

I had to use a local web server on my 24/7 Windows 10 machine to get this to work reliably. Sonos doesn’t seem to play MP3’s over the internet very well. It should play URIs and you can find out what the URI address is for a channel you are playing from through the ST API Graph. Just watch the logs and you should see it pop up.

Great automation… house does everything.
Do the house also work out for you:))) (That piston would worth $$$$)
With the local server I can play music but I dont want to create mp3s and change the list over and over again.
Spotify would be much better.
Thanks for the advice. I will look into URI address.
Thanks man.

It worked… … finding URI through ST IDE solved it…
Thank you so much

Isn’t that the goal of smart home automation? To have the house do everything it possibly can.
