Still trying to understand why Fabriq won't speak in WebCoRE

#1

@webCoRE_Minions Maybe you can help.

1) Give a description of the problem
(Trying to get a Fabriq Speaker to speak text)

2) What is the expected behavior?
(Fabriq should speak text as my Samsung R1’s do )

3) What is happening/not happening?
(I have Pistons created that use both the Samsung R1 speakers and the Fabriq, both types are on the same line of the Piston only the Samsung Speak. The Fabriq speaks using Big Talker and other apps

**4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston!

5) Attach any logs (From ST IDE and by turning logging level to Full)
(PASTE YOUR LOGS HERE BETWEEN THE MARKS)

#2

If you remove the Samsung and just put the Fabriq in there, does it speak?

#3

That is the first thing I tried, no luck. I even tried creating a basic Piston using just a contact and the Fabriq, door opens Fabriq Speak phrase. No luck either. What is strange it works with other apps, including Big Talker.

#4

Do you happend to have a github link to the DH?

#5

OK to get the Fabriq to be used there are two things a SmartApp and a DTH
mujica : MediaRenderer (Connect)
And a DTH mujica : DLNA Player

#6

I use the same DH for my Heos speakers. Try just using “Speak” to see if that works.

I assume you are using “speak text and resume” or “speak text and restore”.

Not that this is a solution, but might get us closer to the solution.

#7

Tested nothing from the Fabriq speaker.

#8

OK Tried “Speak”, “Speak Text” neither produced sound out of either the Samsung R1 or the Fabriq.

#9

I am using the same DH and “Speak” works.

I’m on v2.2.1 of the DH, you?

#10

Same version here. I tried it again, same result no sound.

#11

This is what the logs say

#12

Simple piston

  • Contact opens
  • Use speaker X
  • Speak message

No response from speaker
This is the msg I get in ST IDE live logging

Here is what I get, and frustrating. I think this is a WebCoRE problem, as Fabriq works with other apps, such as Big Talker.

#14

I agree. Must be a Webcore issue. Big talker, talking alarm clock, and speaker companion all work with the Fabriq. I bought these to use with webcore, bummer.

#15

Hopefully someone from the development team is seeing this.

#16

Any update from the Webcore team? I have two of these speakers I’d love to use in webcore!

#17

No answer, maybe you can request help.I can get it to speak with BigTalker, and Ask Alexa.
