1) Give a description of the problem
Need to trigger motorized solar shades to open and close based on the elevation of the sun from the horizon. Using the elevation assures shades are always lowered when suns elevation causes the sun to shine into my lanai. Raising shades during cloudy events is a secondary desire requiring a reliable light sensor like Hue’s motion detector which ST cannot access.
2) What is the expected behaviour?
I can use this elevation data with my already programed Somfy solar shades to raise and lower based on the suns elevation and whether it is cloudy or not
3) What is happening/not happening?
Can only use sunrise or sunset but it is always changing so it’s not very useful. Note Home Assistant has such a sun integration and can read Hue’s motion sensor luminance but I would rather not have yet another source of ST programing.
