$twcweather.alerts Observations

weather

#303

That’s how I started mine. It’s in the Alexa app, under settings, notifications…

#304

Right you are… I was looking on Alexa’s web portal, and it does not show there.
(it only appears on the Alexa app)

Nothing like a freeze watch in April.

Thanks, @Koyfam!

Freeze Watch (and all related data) has been added to the Wiki now.

Latest Update code 9kji

#308

9kji isn’t working for me, but uqup is (post #287)

#309

I just added Freeze Watch to the Alert_Data in uqup. I’ll take a look at it. But you can just add Freeze Watch to Alert_Data in the uqup and you will be up to date.

#310

Updated piston.
As we have all learned, setting a variable in the Define section can cause problems. Well, I found one. Setting Repeat_Count = 0 in the Define section was causing an error. So I moved it to the body. Please let me know if any other modifications need to be made.

#311

Hi all, I’m new to how all of this stuff works. But I noticed that TWC now have a COVID-19 disease tracker APIs, as per the documentation here:

Can someone cleverer than me explain if it would be possible to use these parameters in webCoRE?

#312

More info can be found here if it helps?
https://weather.com/swagger-docs/ui/sun/v3/sunV3DiseaseTracker.json

#313

I am certainly not an expert with API calls and such. There is quite a bit of information available in the API source your listed. Yes, you could certainly write webcore code to access that data. But I feel that the CDC, your state, and your local health department are an excellent source of that information that has already been collected into a meaningful format.

#314

WebCoRE can access APIs that you are authorized to view.
(notice all the examples above reference “apiKey”)

I am curious how much TWC is charging consumers for that data access.

#315

I did notice the api_key

Got a new alert today. Seems to be bundled with Small Craft Advisory.

I received a few “Special Weather Statements” but it appears we have almost all of the data already. I did notice one thing new. I looked through the Wiki but didn’t see “MF” under phenomena. Hope this helps. Maybe it means “More Fog”

Excellent observation!!

Thanks to your post, @Koyfam, we see that the productIdentifier for “Dense Fog Advisory” can be either:

  • MWW = Marine Weather Watch/Warning? … or
  • NPW = Non-Precipitation Warning?

So I am going to guess that a MF phenomena stands for Marine Fog due to your MWW.

The Wiki has been updated.

#320

Hi all, quick query.

Has anyone found anything that relates to pollen count yet? Nothing in the Wiki, so assume not, but it’s that time of year in the UK and this would be really useful to know.

#321

This is what I use for pollen data. Unsure if it’ll work for you in the UK. I have a webcore piston that checks the pollen count and based on the result, sends a notification of whether it’s high medium or low.

#322

Updated weather data array for piston rq97 above. Just copy this data into the Alert_Data variable.
