Unable to Subscribe to Device Status

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I’m attempting to subscribe to when a device goes online, a Cree lightbulb in this case, so I can set some settings to it based on Sunrise and Sunset

2) What is the expected behavior?
When device goes online execute Do that will dim lights

3) What is happening/not happening?
Event is never triggered

**4) Post a Green Snapshot of the piston

in the first if use

if Dimmer 1's switch changes to on

#3

I do not think that works. This is connected light bulb that is losing its power. The hub is keeping the last status which is often on already.

#4

my older connected bulbs also behave the same way. i recently started using another brand which reports the correct status when the switch gets turned off physically.

unfortunately, that ONLINE / OFFLINE status does not update with bulb switching on / off. ST might mark it OFFLINE if the hub has not seen the bulb connect for a while. but that while is quite a long while.

#5

Yeah, I see that it take up to five minutes for the status to update but I can’t subscribe to it.

Anyway, what bulbs are you using? Do they keep their state after powerloss. I would love to find one that does.

#6

recently i have been using sengled classic bulb. they seem to update the status correctly in ST when the physical switch is turned off.

#7

Good show, I ordered some of the plus ones that seem to have dim level too and temperature change. See if that does what I need.

#8

cool, let me know if those work out as well. i have been using the classics in the bathrooms where i needed the dimmable but didnt need color temp change.

#9

Works well. Remembers dim and warmth at power loss and properly tells hub on power off and on via physical switch.

perfect, thanks!
