Webcore presence sensor help

#1

Hi everyone

I hope you can help. I can not seem to get the webcore presence sensor working on my wife’s new phone. We both had Samsung s5 and worked perfectly. We just updated hers to an s7 edge and it just won’t update. I have turned off battery optimisation and ensured location services are on. My s5 is still perfect. I also had this problem trying to add another family members phone but gave up in the end. If I open the webcore app on the phone it will update.

Have I missed something on the webcore part? I downloaded the webcore app. Logged in and went to settings and setup presence under my locations. Is there I step I’ve missed perhaps?

Any ideas, getting very frustrated!

Thanks

Dave

What version of Android is running on the S7? If it’s 8.0 or above, you’re going to be disappointed. The webCoRE presence sensor hasn’t been updated for ages and isn’t optimized for Oreo or above.

Bugger it is 8. Any suggested workarounds/ will it be updated?

I had to abandon it in favor of using Tasker/AutoLocation, which is highly accurate but a little more complex and less convenient for monitoring multiple locations/Geofences. Others use SmartThings, Life360, etc.

There have been whispers amongst the minions about updating the webCoRE app, but since webCoRE’s creator got tied up working for SmartThings, progress on any number of fronts has slowed to a crawl. I wouldn’t hold out hope for anything soon.

That’s really disappointing. I rely on it quite a lot.

Agreed.
