Any way to auto-update webcore routinely?

#1

Hi All,

Curious if anyone knows a way to just auto-update webcore via github. I’ve had pistons stop working, which triggers me to go look at ST API and see there’s an update available. It would be cool if something could be configured to just run updates nightly.

Happy to submit feature enhancement via ST forums (if such a forum exists).

Thanks!

That would be great. I’ve never seen any Smart App do that, but it would be cool  I do know another Smart App that sends a ST notification that there is an update available…not sure how that programming was done…but the folks that created webCoRE are super smart…

Only the old smartapps in the Marketplace (that went through ST approval) could do that… ST suspended that process last year.

Somehow NST Manager sends notifications once an update is available via notifications on the ST app.) If they got rid of that ability, that’s too bad :frowning:

At least I got the github repo to properly work again with ST’s IDE…A nice user on the main ST forum was able to walk me through that. Anyone running the beta migration for ST likely had this issue…need to go into each Smart App and Device Handler and re-link that particular repo…

Darn.

And yes, rboy’s apps show when updates are available. It’s just annoying when webcore updates, and stuff breaks. =/

I’ve been getting “new version available” update webcore smart app notice. I went to smart app and updated from repository and published. I have completely gotten out of browser and Smartthings app and come back. I still get the “new version available” update smart app. Please help.

Here’s what the update alert looks like (example of ST update with another Smart app):

11 PM
