Cannot create Piston

#1

1) Give a description of the problem
I am brand new to webCore. I have installed it (actually, 3 times) and it seems to be properly installed.

2) What is the expected behavior?
I should see the Piston Editor

3) What is happening/not happening?
I open the dashboard, either on my phone or via a browser, click “Create a Blank Piston”, enter author/name/YES to automatic backup, and push Create. The squares in the bottom right spin for a bit, but the screen does not change. The squares then disappear.

Thanks for any suggestions! webCoRE looks great–I am really hoping I can get it going.

You installed all 4 components for WebCoRE in IDE? Published all? Enabled OAuth for the WebCoRE component?

#3

Thanks very much for looking into this.
In answer to your questions, yes. Here’s a screenshot (hope you can view it). But, if not, it looks just like what you sent.:

Admin edit - image deleted as contains too much personal information and shouldn’t be shared for safety reasons.

#4

I could be wrong, but I think the green text means they’re not published. Can you go to “Update from Repo”, select webCoRE, then post another screen capture?

#5

I messed up the screenshot yesterday. Hopefully, this will be better. This appears like it should, I think?
Thanks for any suggestions…

#6

Can you try going into the ST app, go to Automation: SmatApps, open the WC smartapp, go to settings and click on ‘clean up and rebuild data cache’… then try again to make a new piston.

#7

Thanks. Did as suggested, but no change.
(I have an earlier try at webCoRE still on my SmartApps. Had the same problem. But, should I delete it just to clean things up?)

#8

What do you see if you click “Update from Repo” and select webCore(master)?

All my installed apps show black text… only ones missing files/not completely installed are green.

#9

You have two instances of WebCORE installed? Might be worth removing both instances and installing fresh if you not have any pistons created.

#10

At the moment, when I do as you suggested, all I see under “Update from Repo” is SmartThingsPublic(master). And, the 4 installed apps are green, as I believe you saw.

#11

To set up a github connection for WC, follow the instructions here

#12

Followed instructions in Wiki, and all installed apps are now black. I went into the ST app, started webCoRE (I did not reinstall it on the app), but no change in the behavior.
Other thoughts? thanks again!

#13

I am drawing a blank. You have been in settings: available devices in WC and added devices to it? Any ad blocking software that could be blocking on the site? Hopefully others will have thoughts on your situation. Have you tried a hard reload of your browser?

#14

Yes: I have added devices without difficulty–works as expected.
Appreciate your efforts. I do hope others have some ideas—looks like a very useful tool!

#15

Verify that this part of your location in the IDE has info?

#16

Under My Locations, I can see my ST Hub’s name, the coordinates, and the (correct) timezone. Does that answer the question?

#17

Ok, that eliminates that. There were some instances where those fields were incorrect/blank and causing piston problems if I recall correctly.

#18

It occurs to me that I have two hubs. Could that be a source of the problem?

#19

Log in to the other hub and see if it’s got that info?

#20

Location is set there, too, and it correctly reflects a different time zone…
