Control volume of speaker function

#1

When using the speak text command weather I’m going through my Google home or my Android phone I would like to know if there’s a way that I can set the volume level beforehand.

On my phone, the sound comes out of the speaker and it is really loud and I cannot control it from the media volume options on my phone.

What DTH are you using for your Google home device to connect to ST? Cast-web-api?

#3

Yea. But this issue is more on my phone than Google home mini

Okay. So, what DTH are you using to announce on your phone? Are you using Lannnouncer? There are options in the app to set the volume of the announcements and alerts.

I don’t see where the volume option is in Lannouncer. I was I hoping I can set volume directly.in WC

You can…but only for devices and DTHs that support it. For example, if you used a “VLC thing” device, that does support volume management so you just have to issue a “set level” command. But I don’t believe that lannouncer supports receiving the volume commands. However, if you go into Lannouncer and go into the menu (the three dots on the top right hand of the screen, you’ll see a manu that says, “Audio Volumes”. There you can set the volume for Alarms, Chimes and voice. You can also choose whether any of these wouldn’t be silent in silent mode on your phone.

Thanks I was looking at the lan device in ST not the actual LA app.
