Customising piston tile icons, images, gauges etc

1) Give a description of the problem
I have seen in examples some reallly nice piston tiles that are gauges, images etc.

I can’t find any reference documentation on what the parameters are when I create my dull looking tiles.

Any clues please where I can find this info?
