Can we assume that development on WC has ceased? I don’t see any updates in the code since March of this year.
Development finished?
I believe @ipaterson still works on some of the codes on his spare time. Definitely not as much time as @ady624 put in it before, that guy is a machine.
Have either ST or Adrian announced the status of his work on webCoRE? Is it basically an orphaned community product with Adrian 100% devoted elsewhere, or does he give a little time to keeping it, if not developed, alive?
He’s absolutely still involved, while time is a limited resource he is still the maintainer of the services that run webCoRE and has been available whenever we needed him. Most responsibilities have been delegated to the minions so as a team we are equipped to solve problems that arise and continue developing webCoRE.
The minions have been testing an update that brings a few new small features. That should be released on Thursday if I can finish up the documentation. You can also see pre-release progress on the webCoRE GitHub by viewing the dev or staging branch.
@ipaterson. Since you are still working on the webcore stuff. I have a suggestion.
Many of us, or at least me, don’t always realize there is a new release out there, or there is a critical update, without going to the ide and having to check the repository.
Is it possible to add something like king of fans smart app has deployed for their Hampton bay ceiling fan controller.
There is a tile that show if app is up to date or needs updating. A red dot for update and a green dot for current version is up to date.
Here is a screen shot of the device from the smartthings app. Maybe green-good, yellow-update, and red-need to update now for stability reasons?
Just a thought
Yes I use the dashboard. However, if I am not building a new piston, or tweaking a piston I may not go there as often as I would go to smartthings app. For a presence sensor for example. It was just a thought.
Best option would be on iOS, if the webcore app would push a badge to notate a change has taken place, and needs attention. Don’t use android, but there must be something there for that plstform too.
There is also an RSS feed of changes if that is helpful to anyone. The latest entry corresponds to the latest release.
