Hello, Brand new to WebCoRE and my first piston is malfunctioning. I believe it is related to WC not being able to determine the target device’s current state. Please see the photo below where it appears the status of “Whole House H2O Shutoff” is missing. How do I re-sync WC with ST so that the status of this device is recognized?
Device State Missing: How to Re-Sync?
what device is it?
What handler are you using?
Can you post an example piston using that device so we can see if it’s piston related?
The “Whole House H2O Shutoff” is a Leak Gopher. It is functioning as expected from the ST iOS app.
Is the handler the “Type” from this page:
Here is one of the two pistons using this device:
Can you post a green snapshot… it will anonymise the device name. I’m curious if it will say ‘unknown device’.
I don’t know what a green snapshot is.
Isn’t there a simple process to disconnect webCoRE from ST and reconnect it? That seems to resolve most issues with other cloud services…
I posted snapshots of the device screen from ST and the piston from WC in post #3 of this thread. Can you please elaborate on what else I need to share to debug this issue?
Thx
Okay, I created another virtual switch hoping that would solve my problem but webCoRE does not present the new vSwitch in the dropdown of devices. So I’ll ask again:
Is there a way to force a re-sync of webCoRE with SmartThings? If not, why doesn’t my new vSwitch appear as an available device?
Thx
Go into the WC smartapp via the ST app, go to settings, available devices and contacts and then tuck the new device to authorise WC to control it.
Only the native Alexa app can automatically add new devices without getting express permission each time.
I have two WC entries in the SmartApps section of the ST app. Is this normal?
Do I need to select my devices in both? One has an “Engine block” entry and the second only “Dashboard” and “Settings.”
You seem to have installed a second instance of webCoRE which isn’t a problem but for most users it’s unnecessary.
To avoid confusion, each instance should have a different name… then go to the dashboard for each instance to see what pistons they contain.
If one of the has no pistons then just delete it via the ST app.
I deleted both of my pistons, updated all four of the webCoRE SmartApps from the ST IDE, removed and reinstalled the WC SmartApp in iOS, and created a new piston. Still doesn’t work.
This, my first experience with webCoRE has been pretty miserable and I’m about to give up. Can I just pay someone to fix this for me??
Completely removing webCoRE and reinstalling appears to have resolved the issue. Thanks for the support.
