I am still using the Classic version, by choice…

Also remember there are 2-3 different ways to send notifications in webCoRE. Maybe try one of the others?

#13

The classic version is the one that I cant get on the tablet. I cant stand the the “newer” one

#14

How else can I send notifications? I know I can send SMS but that wouldn’t work on a tablet.

#15

There are 4 to choose from, but for a tablet without a SIM card, you may be limited to the middle two here.

Another alternative, is to use AutoRemote & webCoRE to send the command directly to the tablet, but the coding is a bit trickier with this method. (which is why the steps are not listed on my previous link)

#16

Wouldn’t either of the highlighted require smartthings to be on the tablet?

#17

Here is the breakdown for AutoRemote when used with webCoRE.

Send a notification to only ONE device without a SIM card

#18

Oh shoot, yes, you are right. You need to either get ST (and notifications) working on the tablet, OR use the AutoRemote method mentioned in my last post.

#19

I might have to reset this tablet as it might help if I fix the Google play store on it.

#20

Having the GP store available can only help.

Might also need to update everything if this device is real old

#21

Its on it but broken for some reason.

#22

That could explain why your ST app isn’t working

#23

I hope so. I really want to get this to work

#24

Google play just crashes when I open it

#25

I have my wall mounted tablet rooted, so I just sideloaded Google Play Store on to it. I don’t have a link though, because certain devices can only run certain versions of GP Store.

#26

You could try https://forum.xda-developers.com/
and input your exact device. There should be a thread on getting Google Play Store specifically for your device.

#27

I had it working at one point but it won’t work now

#28

Well at least you have a game plan now…

  • Get Google Play Store installed on that device
  • Get ST notifications working on the tablet

I have not seen this first hand, but I read somewhere that logging out and relogging back in to the ST app sometimes fixes the notifications…

I still think it would be wise to have a working Google Play store on that device, but that is just me

#29

Google play fixed. Now to see if that makes it possible to log into smartthings

#30

The issue is when trying to log into smartthings classic it tries to use the silk browser inside the app to authenticate my Samsung account and smartthings doesnt allow that. They want chrome or another normal browser. Chrome is on the tablet but because smartthings does this inside the app it uses silk.

#31

Ahh, I have not encountered this, so cannot help with that question.
Maybe make a new thread with that specific query?

(and come back here once your notifications are working)

I wonder if making Chrome the default browser would resolve this?
