Local Development

#1

Hi All!

I’ve been using WebCoRE for a little while and it’s great! I’m currently working as a Web Dev and seeing some great changes that can be made to enhance the usability of the website element of WebCoRE.
As much as posting loads of ideas on here good, I’d like to be able to prototype some ideas and push them up for review and hopefully let everyone use it.
I was originally thinking of setting up a separate UI on a Pi and process the data from WebCore to graph it but why double up the work when this can be improved? If someone can either point me in the right direction to some docs on how to set up a local env or if there isn’t any, any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are wanting to host the webcore dashboard locally then check out Adrian’s github repo. He has all the files up there.

Just a note that this does not mean any pistons will run locally.

Yeah, that’s what i was hoping on doing. Ideally with some, or dummy content for testing etc. I’m on the assumption its an Angular project with the ng references in the code etc. If anyone has a docker image or similar that they could push up, that would be epic!

Here is the link to the github for the dist folder. It is Angular JS

would this ever be possible @ady624 ? I have a big fault on my line and the internet is constantly dropping out for hours or minutes.

This made me think about the genius of WebCore and how much of a lose it would be if we didn’t have the internet all the time. So wanted to know if it was even possible to have WebCore set up locally.

As much as I want to say yes, I am afraid that is simply not possible in the foreseeable future.
