What purpose do restrictions at the top level of a piston serve? As I unfortunately discovered, they will only resolve when the piston is started and not when it is triggered? Is that of use to anyone - seems like it causes more confusion than its worth. Perhaps that warning can be injected into the code as a comment when someone adds a restriction? I know it would have saved me quite a bit of time and stress!
