I got this alert, hope it helps

Piston state: at 8:57 P.M. on 7/31 saying [[adminDistrict:Puerto Rico, adminDistrictCode:PR, areaId:PRZ005, areaName:North Central, areaTypeCode:Z, categories:[[category:Met, categoryCode:2]], certainty:Unknown, certaintyCode:5, countryCode:US, countryName:UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, detailKey:8f26c8d4-0199-3500-84f1-695191abc89b, disclaimer:null, effectiveTimeLocal:null, effectiveTimeLocalTimeZone:null, eventDescription:Flash Flood Watch, eventTrackingNumber:1, expireTimeLocal:2019-07-31T21:00:00-04:00, expireTimeLocalTimeZone:AST, expireTimeUTC:1564621200, flood:null, headlineText:Flash Flood Watch until WED 9:00 PM AST, ianaTimeZone:America/Puerto_Rico, identifier:5d1280a865e4eff46be9e2825c809f2d, issueTimeLocal:2019-07-31T20:47:00-04:00, issueTimeLocalTimeZone:AST, latitude:00.00, longitude:-00.00, messageType:New, messageTypeCode:1, officeAdminDistrict:Puerto Rico, officeAdminDistrictCode:PR, officeCode:TJSJ, officeCountryCode:US, officeName:San Juan, onsetTimeLocal:null, onsetTimeLocalTimeZone:null, phenomena:FF, processTimeUTC:1564620431, productIdentifier:FFA, responseTypes:[[responseType:Avoid, responseTypeCode:5]], severity:Moderate, severityCode:3, significance:A, source:National Weather Service, urgency:Unknown, urgencyCode:5]]

#17

Thank you @st_kbron!! You guys are awesome!!

Keep 'em coming!!

#18

I really want to play…but I have nothing…

#19

I feel your pain @Pantheon

It was tricky for me to create this piston with absolutely no way to test it!
(other than waiting for bad weather)

I am quite pleased I nailed it on the first attempt

#20

Here’s one more.

[[adminDistrict:null, adminDistrictCode: , areaId:ANZ335, areaName:Long Island Sound West of New Haven CT/Port Jefferson NY, areaTypeCode:Z, categories:[[category:Met, categoryCode:2]], certainty:Possible, certaintyCode:3, countryCode:US, countryName:UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, detailKey:80ad7be2-8d7b-3d68-8196-742564230c1a, disclaimer:null, effectiveTimeLocal:null, effectiveTimeLocalTimeZone:null, eventDescription:Severe Thunderstorm Watch, eventTrackingNumber:0547, expireTimeLocal:2019-07-31T21:00:00-04:00, expireTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, expireTimeUTC:1564621200, flood:null, headlineText:Severe Thunderstorm Watch until WED 9:00 PM EDT, ianaTimeZone:America/New_York, identifier:e1cac16b282366c95a81fc3867998a07, issueTimeLocal:2019-07-31T15:17:00-04:00, issueTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, latitude:00.00, longitude:-00.00, messageType:Update, messageTypeCode:2, officeAdminDistrict:New York, officeAdminDistrictCode:NY, officeCode:KOKX, officeCountryCode:US, officeName:New York City, onsetTimeLocal:null, onsetTimeLocalTimeZone:null, phenomena:SV, processTimeUTC:1564600652, productIdentifier:WCN, responseTypes:[[responseType:Monitor, responseTypeCode:6]], severity:Severe, severityCode:2, significance:A, source:National Weather Service, urgency:Future, urgencyCode:3], [adminDistrict:New York, adminDistrictCode:NY, areaId:NYC059, areaName:Nassau County, areaTypeCode:C, categories:[[category:Met, categoryCode:2]], certainty:Possible, certaintyCode:3, countryCode:US, countryName:UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, detailKey:0ae82386-e584-34d6-a484-d4dc92969cc9, disclaimer:null, effectiveTimeLocal:null, effectiveTimeLocalTimeZone:null, eventDescription:Severe Thunderstorm Watch, eventTrackingNumber:0547, expireTimeLocal:2019-07-31T21:00:00-04:00, expireTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, expireTimeUTC:1564621200, flood:null, headlineText:Severe Thunderstorm Watch until WED 9:00 PM EDT, ianaTimeZone:America/New_York, identifier:e1cac16b282366c95a81fc3867998a07, issueTimeLocal:2019-07-31T15:17:00-04:00, issueTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, latitude:00.00, longitude:-00.00, messageType:Update, messageTypeCode:2, officeAdminDistrict:New York, officeAdminDistrictCode:NY, officeCode:KOKX, officeCountryCode:US, officeName:New York City, onsetTimeLocal:null, onsetTimeLocalTimeZone:null, phenomena:SV, processTimeUTC:1564600652, productIdentifier:WCN, responseTypes:[[responseType:Monitor, responseTypeCode:6]], severity:Severe, severityCode:2, significance:A, source:National Weather Service, urgency:Future, urgencyCode:3]]

#21

Awesome @Koyfam… There was some gems in that one!

I’m definitely seeing some patterns that should make coding easy for us… :sunglasses:

If that alert is still active, would you be able to run two quick commands for me?
(or really anyone with an active alert can do this)

At the bottom of any piston (not in edit mode) there is an “Evaluation Console”. Would you change “Value” to “Expression” and try the following two lines, pressing “Enter” between.

$twcweather.alerts.responseTypes.responseType
$twcweather.alerts.responseTypes.responseTypeCode

Like this:

temp

I am trying to confirm the full path for future queries. Hopefully your results contain real data.

#22

For those following along, here is my preliminary observations…
(although it’s still fairly early in the data gathering)

The left column of 21 data points looks to be the most useful
The right column of 18 data points looks to be the least useful
The middle column of 9 data points is too early to tell

… and just as a reminder…
If there are no current weather alerts for your location, then these data points will all be blank for you.

#23

Thanks @WCmore. This is great. My alerts are no longer active but I’ll run those commands when the next one comes in.

#24

I am already brainstorming future pistons…

For example, the code:
certainty severity headlineText" for "areaName
could output something like:
Likely Severe Heat Advisory until TUE 9:00 PM EDT for Southern Nassau County

#25

Piston state: at 5:08 P.M. on 8/1 saying [[adminDistrict:Tennessee, adminDistrictCode:TN, areaId:TNZ069, areaName:Knox County, areaTypeCode:Z, categories:[[category:Met, categoryCode:2]], certainty:Unknown, certaintyCode:5, countryCode:US, countryName:UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, detailKey:5de0f31f-2c66-34e9-812c-34f7058f3c45, disclaimer:null, effectiveTimeLocal:null, effectiveTimeLocalTimeZone:null, eventDescription:Significant Weather Advisory, eventTrackingNumber:0000, expireTimeLocal:2019-08-01T17:45:00-04:00, expireTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, expireTimeUTC:1564695900, flood:null, headlineText:Significant Weather Advisory until THU 5:45 PM EDT, ianaTimeZone:America/New_York, identifier:e801cb69bdd448b7e84849f05ff6ee41, issueTimeLocal:2019-08-01T16:54:00-04:00, issueTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, latitude:00.00, longitude:-00.00, messageType:New, messageTypeCode:1, officeAdminDistrict:Tennessee, officeAdminDistrictCode:TN, officeCode:KMRX, officeCountryCode:US, officeName:Knoxville/Tri-Cities, onsetTimeLocal:null, onsetTimeLocalTimeZone:null, phenomena:TSG, processTimeUTC:1564692874, productIdentifier:SPS, responseTypes:[[responseType:Avoid, responseTypeCode:5]], severity:Minor, severityCode:4, significance:Y, source:National Weather Service, urgency:Unknown, urgencyCode:5]]

#26

Thanks @Pantheon!! Looks like you are ahead of me. I am still waiting for my first alert, LOL

Side Note:
The second or third alert, (worded slightly different), may be just as important as the initial one for data gathering.

#27

Not sure if this helps at all…

Piston state: at 7:08 P.M. on 8/1 saying [[adminDistrict:Tennessee, adminDistrictCode:TN, areaId:TNC093, areaName:Knox County, areaTypeCode:C, categories:[[category:Met, categoryCode:2]], certainty:Unknown, certaintyCode:5, countryCode:US, countryName:UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, detailKey:8abbb7b5-4465-39ca-a010-3fbf795a6de4, disclaimer:null, effectiveTimeLocal:2019-08-01T17:21:00-04:00, effectiveTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, eventDescription:Flood Advisory, eventTrackingNumber:0156, expireTimeLocal:2019-08-01T19:15:00-04:00, expireTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, expireTimeUTC:1564701300, flood:[floodCrestTimeLocal:null, floodCrestTimeLocalTimeZone:null, floodEndTimeLocal:null, floodEndTimeLocalTimeZone:null, floodImmediateCause:Excessive Rainfall, floodImmediateCauseCode:ER, floodLocationId:00000, floodLocationName:N/A, floodRecordStatus:N/A, floodRecordStatusCode:OO, floodSeverity:None, floodSeverityCode:N, floodStartTimeLocal:null, floodStartTimeLocalTimeZone:null], headlineText:Flood Advisory from THU 5:21 PM EDT until THU 7:15 PM EDT, ianaTimeZone:America/New_York, identifier:d4e33ef8a098d40077e64242d1a6adde, issueTimeLocal:2019-08-01T17:21:00-04:00, issueTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, latitude:00.00, longitude:00.00, messageType:New, messageTypeCode:1, officeAdminDistrict:Tennessee, officeAdminDistrictCode:TN, officeCode:KMRX, officeCountryCode:US, officeName:Knoxville/Tri-Cities, onsetTimeLocal:2019-08-01T17:21:00-04:00, onsetTimeLocalTimeZone:EDT, phenomena:FA, processTimeUTC:1564694510, productIdentifier:FLS, responseTypes:[[responseType:Avoid, responseTypeCode:5]], severity:Moderate, severityCode:3, significance:Y, source:National Weather Service, urgency:Unknown, urgencyCode:5]]

#28

You’re awesome!!

Finally some data about flooding!!

#29

Hey @Pantheon, if that alert is still active, can you do this quick test?

#30

Sorry, got [ ] for both…next time maybe.

#31

Thanks for trying…

It’s possible it might require different wording to grab individual data points.
(hence, all this testing LOL)

It was interesting to see all the new data points that was not visible in any of the other alerts.

temp

This means there may be a lot of hidden data points, that only show up under certain conditions.

#32

Just let me know what I can do to help. I am quite interested in getting this info together and in the Wiki.

#33

You are doing perfect! Just keep posting new alerts, and within the next day or two I will start combining all of our data into one easy to read page.

I just noticed that your last alert was also the first where “areaTypeCode” was not “Z”…
(although I don’t know what your “C” stands for yet, LOL)

#34

I got another alert. Here is the result of the commands

(expression) $twcweather.alerts.responseTypes.responseType »»» (dynamic) [[Monitor]]
(expression) $twcweather.alerts.responseTypes.responseTypeCode »»» (dynamic) [[6]]

#35

And the alert itself.
