Webcore Presence IOS Location Permission

I’m having an issue with the IOS Webcore app where it seems to lose location permission. I’ve gone into settings and checked my location settings and it says Always under “Allow location access” however once a week or so my presence stops updating and I find that I need to open the webcore app and the “Allow webcore to use your current location” dialogue box pops up and I have to ok it again and then it resumes updating my presence.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Is this a common issue or is it just me?

It’s definitely not a “common” problem.

Are you closing the app out? Turning off your phone? Anything that might be triggering this?

I don’t usually turn off my phone unless the battery dies, which I don’t recall happening since I installed the webcore app. Every once in a while I’ll close all my apps, but I think this has happened at least once without me having done that. I’m going to uninstall and reinstall the app, open it, then leave it be and see what happens. I’ll report back. If it helps, I’m using an iphone 7 with ios11.1.2. I’m gonna go ahead and update the ios too and see if that helps at all.

Same happens to me, on my iPhone X and on my wife’s iPhone X. Version 11.2.5

If you need any details please ask

Curious to see what happens

I’ve updated my iOS, deleted and reinstalled webcore, and made sure presence was working. I’ll see what happens over the next week or so and report back.

I had the same problem this morning. Everything was working fine, WC Presence history showed when I left the house yesterday, but it never showed me return. Presence still reported as away this morning (viewing it in ST).
I opened webcore on my iPhone and it asked for Location Permission, selected yes and everything started working again.
Nothing changed on my iPhone, didn’t reboot it, battery level was fine, etc…

I looked a little bit closer and noticed that it isn’t actually the app that is asking for location permission, but the website. I changed my safari browser settings to allow location when in use (I had it off completely because I don’t use safari) so perhaps that’ll help.
