Arlo Siren - Pollable Device?

bug

#1

I am trying to remove my Arlo Cameras from SmartThings but I get an error that it is still connected to a dashboard or automation…

Went through everything (incl WebCore) in the smartthings mobile app, its not selected or used anywhere… so I logged into the ST Console and lo and behold! it is showing as a “pollable device” in webcore in the my graphs device page, but its not even an option in the GUI

  1. how can I resolve this so I can finish removing arlo w/out uninstalling and starting over with WebCore
  2. how can I avoid this in the future?!?

You can see this is set in the screenshot below
WebCore SmartApp Settings

Ok, I was able to force remove it via the ST Web Interface – but still odd that WebCore had it listed as ‘pollable’ in settings, but there was no option to add/remove it as a pollable device

I’ve always wondered about some of the device types when adding devices to webCoRE settings and pollable is one those types. What exactly does that mean in SmartThings? Does it mean a device that reports status or…? Why would you poll a device? What benefits are there?
