[BUG?] Using timer statement every 1 year always schedule next run in 2018 even if selected date is not passed in 2017

Is there a way to make a piston execute each year without being updated? Example: Send notification at 8am on January 1st.

I see there is a Date and time option but that would need to be updated each year to the next.

I wonder if will take some update from @ady624. I don’t see just the date (no year) available in the variables either.

Use timer as statement? You can choose every year don’t you?

Statement will look like:

Every 8th day of January at 8:00:00 AM
Then…

Yeah but get it out of the if block… In fact, get rid of the if block altogether

I wasnt sure what you meant at first (still pretty new) but i remade it from scratch to get rid of the If & Then. This is what you mean, right?

OK, here is another question, I just went back to the dashboard and now its showing it wont run for 368 days (below). Shouldn’t it run in 3 days and then restart, or am i missing something?

Hum that’s confusing! Try pausing/resuming piston? Is next scheduled still shown as 2018?

Just tried pausing & resuming still at 386. Yes, the next scheduled looks to be 2018.

Must be a bug, I tried myself and get the same result. I also tried October and it schedule next run in 2018.

@ady624, you might wanna have a look at this.

I’ll post a bug report in corresponding category tomorrow. Unless you’re OK I move this post?

I put 'em in google calendar, and it reminds me.

Back to the topic: “every other Week” makes the event run every week. So the timer might indeed have some bugs.

Not enough for me lol. I need something a lot more annoying and repetitive… Like the speaker reminding me to call until IFTTT notice I indeed place the damn call. I have a bad habit of snooze and forget

I’m using IFTTT for many things, but had no idea it could see whether you called someone or not.

I like sending a nice Bday message in the morning and then leaving it to ST to sing Happy Birthday every time they walk in the door that day! A Google reminder is too easy, i mean if ST and Webcore can do it, then why wouldn’t ya? Hahaha
