Can't Load the Dashboard - Sept 14, 1:50 PM CDT

Spinning boxes of death. Any one else?

#2

Have you tried cleaning up and rebuilding the data cache in the webcore smartapp settings?

#3

Will try now.

EDIT:

Thanks, that did it.

Pistons had been loading and saving slowly lately. I guess related? Seems better now.

#4

Actually, it looks like I have a bad piston. I was editing a paused piston that has run before just fine. I made some minor changes and tried to save and that’s when this happened. Doing as you suggested clears the problem until I try editing that same piston again and it hangs on the save and I can’t get the dashboard to load again … It looks like the piston gets to 22 of 23 chunks then fails.

#5

Yeah, hard limit is 25 AFAIK and sometime it fails when getting very close to 25. Then, you get the SSoD (spinning squares of death) and need to clean and rebuild.

#6

Right but it seems this piston is FUBARd now as I can clean and rebuild but each time I update the piston and save it dies again. The piston is not that large and in use by others. I can’t even EDIT then save without making any changes.

#7

Yeah I know… Been there, done that… Can’t remember how I fixed it tho… oups

#8

It was a laundry monitoring piston. Does that mean I don’t have to do the laundry now?

:sunglasses:

#9

If only it could work that way haha.

What device are you using to monitor washer/dryer?

#10

I’m using Aeon Smart Switch 6s.

#11

I think from my bad memory, I had this happen once. So I tried creating a duplicate piston of it and then had no problems saving it after.

Worth a try?

#12

Thanks. I will try that.

#13

Now that you mention it, I think it’s what did it for me too. Worth a try @Nezmo

#14

There is no limit. Just when it decides to stop. Anywhere from 25-30 chunks

#15

I gave this a try folks and no cigar. Same problem with the new piston created from the troublesome one.

The SmartApp shows 95% mem usage before I run the clean-up.

#16

Damn, that looks like a sexy piston. I’d be curious to see it if you can take screenshot. :relieved:

#17

Was there a solution to this? I get the spinning boxes of death on Chrome/IE/Android. I have cleared the cache.
This used to work when I was testing a while ago but now that I want to start converting my pistons it knows I want in :frowning:
I do see a flash of a few HTML lines on the screen before the screen clears and then the boxes spin.
Running the latest code.

#18

I didn’t no. My dashboard is fine unless I try to open that one piston.

#19

Ok thanks, maybe the CEO can shed some light @ady624

Any errors in the browser’s console? Any errors in the IDE?
