Devices removed from SmartApp still showing in dashboard

#1

I’ve removed four or five SmartThings outlets from webCoRE inside the ST Classic app. I’ve double checked every group with devices, and they’re not selected in any of them. They are still showing in the dashboard. I’m not sure why or how to get rid of them. I know previously there was a 50 device limit. I’m getting pretty close to that, so with the new Mirror functionality in SmartLighting, I’m trying to pare that down by grouping stuff with virtual switches, where I can.

Is there a trick or some other way to remove devices from webCoRE? Not sure if this is a bug or not… I’m just needing a little help. Thanks!

When you say, “They are still showing in the dashboard”, do you mean the ST Dashboard on your phone, or the webcore Dashboard found here: https://dashboard.webcore.co/

https://dashboard.webcore.co

They are still showing as selectable devices in pistons

In the ST classic app on my phone, though, in the available device list, they show up as unchecked in every category they appear in.

Did you perform a hard reload of your browser?

#5

Yep. Hard reload (which I just tried again to verify) and even tried to use a different browser that I haven’t ever used webCoRE on before. Devices are still showing.

Well, the dashboard found at https://dashboard.webcore.co/ will only display what we (the users) program. Either a tile, or text etc. Removing the outlet will NOT hide or delete that piston.

As far as what devices are listed when editing a piston, I would imagine they went away if they were removed from every category (and every instance) of webCoRE in the ST app. (If you have two instances, the steps above have to be done in each)

And of course, the obligatory Ctrl-F5 in the web browser once you are back at: https://dashboard.webcore.co/

They show in the “dashboard”, but I was referring to the dropdowns when editing the pistons. I’ve removed all references to the devices from the pistons. I’ve checked both instances in the ST apps, and they aren’t checked in any category in either instance… I hadn’t checked the other instance, given that the instances are separate smart apps, but regardless, after double checking, these five devices weren’t checked in the available devices in either instance of the app. Yet, they still show up as selectable devices to control when editing pistons.

Edit: And apparently, can still control the devices as well… I added one of the devices to a test piston I have, and it worked just fine… If it would help to have screen shots of the categories as well as the device in the app and logs, I can get those.

If you click on the device in the ST app, then select smartapps in the right-hand side of the upper menu, it will list what smartapps, webcore instances and pistons still have that device associated to it.

It does. In this case (Living Room Couch Lamps), it has webCoRE listed in the SmartApp list, but I can’t find it selected in any of the categories within the SmartApp itself. That’s my problem. I know that it’s still showing as connected to the app, I just can’t find a way to disconnect it.

#10

Yes, there are other categories, but I’ve looked through them all. I can post the rest if it will help, but this will give you an idea of what I’m seeing.

#11

My only thought is to go into each section where it is an available device, select it, click Done, then go back in and deselect it and click done. When you have completed that, finish by clicking done on the screens and save on the main web core instance screen.

Ok, I’ve tried that, but I’ll give it another shot. It’s not a huge deal. I may end up just using the backup codes to uninstall and reinstall the app if/when I hit the device limit. At the moment, it’s not a big deal. I just thought I’d see if there was an easier way before it became one.

Curiously, took a peek into the IDE, and under webCoRE, it’s showing the device linked to capability.light, but the ST outlet isn’t an option under that category in the SmartApp on the phone. Could it have been an option before (by bug or mistake or whatever)? Then, I selected it. It was removed as an option, and now, I can’t remove it? I could certainly see myself having checked something just because it was there before, just not sure how to get in there and remove it now.

Though, like I said, for the moment, it’s not causing a problem. I’m just trying to understand what is causing it.

Just curious, where did you get your info on there being a device limit? I haven’t seen or heard that before so just wondering if I missed that bit of info.

Oh, there was a lot of discussion back in the development process about a 50 device limit per instance. That may have changed. I stopped keeping up as much as I should, and I may have misunderstood the discussion surrounding it all. I just assumed that was the point of multiple instances.

Again, this may have changed, but here’s where I originally saw it:
