Piston not working, semaphore

#1

My Piston will not work right. It keeps stopping and intermittently working.

The log says “waiting for semaphore”

Is this a big, or is it fixable.

I think this is a backend thing.

#2

Can you attach an image of the piston and some logs please?

Just another note.

Also any simple repeat function created does not work either. ive created several simple pistons with repeat function to turn on off a light. it cycles 5 to 8 times then stops.

Hi there,

I don’t get the part where you change the COLOR of motion sensor and turning it OFF ???
What is that?
(I am just curious and always trying to get new ideas) I was wondering what kind of sensors are they?

#6

You have no triggers, so all your conditions become triggers…

This means:
Each time your contact opens, it runs thru the code top to bottom 4 times
Each time your contact closes, it runs thru the code top to bottom 4 times
Each time your lock locks, it runs thru the code top to bottom 4 times
Each time your lock unlocks, it runs thru the code top to bottom 4 times

Basically, your piston is spamming your network, hence the semaphore waits

You have another thread started about this question. There are responses there waiting for you

#7

that was a sample Piston.

This is the one I’m having trouble with. It cycles 8 times the stop. Another piston executes this one and that how it fires. Suggestions?

#8

The solution is in the other thread. No need to mix up pistons (topics) over here

It’s the EZmultipli is is a motion sensor with a large changeable RGB (LED) in it. It plugs in, and it also an extender. Bunch of other sensors built into it.

It’s available on amazon, just search the sensor name.
